Therapy for Adults Who Are Tired of Just Getting By

I work with adults across Maine who have been carrying a lot for a long time. You may feel weighed down by expectations, always trying to hold it together, yet quietly wondering if you’ll ever be or do enough. Here, there is space to set some of that weight down, feel truly supported, and reconnect with yourself—with greater grace, confidence, peace, and hope.

Common Concerns I Help With

Anxiety & Overthinking

Racing thoughts, worst-case thinking, and a mind that will not power down at night.

Self-Doubt & the Inner Critic

Second-guessing yourself, replaying conversations, and never feeling like enough.

People-Pleasing

Saying yes when you mean no, and carrying resentment you never intended to hold.

Boundaries

Learning to protect your time, energy, and relationships without guilt.

Trauma & Past Experiences

Understanding how old experiences still shape how you feel and respond today.

Guilt & Shame

Untangling the guilt that keeps you apologizing and the shame that whispers you are the problem.

Faith Struggles

Doubt, church hurt, spiritual burnout, or feeling distant from God — safe to bring here without judgment.

Identity & Worth

Reconnecting with who you are apart from performance, roles, and other people's expectations.

What to Know About Therapy

What concerns do you help with?

I work with adults navigating anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, people-pleasing, boundaries, guilt and shame, trauma, identity, and faith struggles.

What happens in a typical session?

We check in, explore what's coming up for you, and use practical tools to understand patterns and build new ones. Sessions are collaborative and paced to your needs.

How long are sessions?

Individual sessions are 55 minutes.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions. As progress builds, we may move to every other week or as needed.

Do I need a diagnosis?

No. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to begin. If you want support, that is reason enough.

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us identify thoughts and behaviors that keep you stuck, then replace them with healthier, more accurate patterns.

Can I do therapy if I'm not religious?

Yes. Faith is always optional. The clinical work stands on its own and is respectful of wherever you are.

How do I know therapy is working?

We track your goals together. Signs of progress often include clearer boundaries, less overthinking, more self-trust, and greater peace.

What if I don't know what to talk about?

That is completely normal. I will help you sort through what feels most important in the moment — there is no right way to begin.

How do I get started?

Request a free consultation. We will talk briefly about your needs, answer questions, and schedule your first session if it feels like a good fit.
